Fiona Bullivant, tutor with the Whangarei Scottish Dance Club, decided she would like a group of dancers to make a video of a dance devised by Eddy West. Eddy was a keen dancer and prolific dance devisor. Many of his dances are loved by New Zealand SCD dancers and some are danced regularly worldwide. This one was especially written for the Whangarei Club and Twisty Willow was delighted to play the music for the clip and film and edit the result.

In the late 1990s we played for Auckland Scottish Country Dance Balls until our busy band performance schedule took precedence. Now, living in Waipu, we still have regular band bookings all over the country and have the time to perfect Scottish Country Dance sets.
We play regularly for local clubs in the Northland area. We are also available play for annual dances or club nights around the country. Have caravan; will travel!
Expanding our repertoire is continuous, with 19,000 dances in the Royal Scottish Country Dance repertoire and an average of 3 or 4 tunes per dance! Current list available by request.
As members of the Waipu SCD club and financial members of the RSCDS we have good access to this incredible music and dance resource, written and online. We never cease to be amazed at discovering wonderful Scottish tunes both old and new.
Over the years we have attended numerous Scottish and Irish music work-shops, festivals and master classes around New Zealand, in Scotland and Ireland. This is our music of choice.

It is surprising how many dances are devised by New Zealanders, so we have set ourselves the task of recording
Twisty Willow arrangements of tunes for these and making them available if clubs or individuals wish to use our music.
